Steven Argue,- Taxation does many things besides welfare to the wealthy. This is part of why the far right is up in arms against taxation. They hate that some tax money goes to things like food stamps, education, health care, scientific research, environmental programs, etc. Granted it is not enough, but the question of taxation is more complex. The issue is more that we live under a bourgeois government that largely allocates money as it pleases.
